Like many others, SoundCloud started as a simple web application running on a couple of cloud services. As more features, developers and users were added, this then small system turned into what is now known as the Death Star ‹a gigantic Rails application. This talk is about how we are breaking the big ball of mud into small, and cohesive services ‹built not only in Ruby but also in Scala, Erlang and Go‹ while keeping the startup spirit of delivering features like there is no tomorrow.
